2016 Hyundai Sonata Release Date, Info & Specs

The newest and improved 2016 Hyundai Sonata can perhaps be the top running family sedan of the year with its amazing fuel efficiency and a spacious interior. The car has been updated quite significantly for the upcoming year and will be a good prospect for any customer who wants to find a family vehicle for long drives or actually any type of a given situation.

2016 Hyundai Sonata exterior, front view

The Hyundai Sonata enters in its seventh generation of production and does so in a magnificent fashion as it needs to deal with a very tough competition of four door sedans, starting with the Toyota Camry car. The 2015 year saw a very nice update for the car which added a more elegant but conservative look which also adds some higher refinement levels to the brand. The first predictions were that the design was not going to hold up for very long but the claims were completely false. Both the interior and exterior design that was imposed last year manages to hold up for this year and will even maintain itself longer than you might think.

The upgrades imposed on the 2016 Hyundai Sonata model are not just going to be aesthetic, although few for that matter, but are also very functional. The inside gets some newest technological additions while safety has been made even higher with several aluminum suspension components added and emergency braking to the forward collision warning system. The car promises to be a very good choice which will topple the competition and hold its position firmly. The review will help you understand just how the new Sonata has changed.

Compared to before, the exterior of the 2016 Hyundai Sonata is without question a more sophisticated but a more conservative vehicle at the same time. There was a lot of criticism that stated that the look may prove to be too bland, but in fact it has fewer faulty surfaces that crash against one another and does not include any awkward lines, making it bold and magnificently designed. This design has been derived from the Hyundai’s latest Genesis car which saw some alterations and changes to the Hyundai’s new original theme. The saber line gives the new Sonata a wide shoulder look which this time does not dive to the front wheel part but goes straight down the body side. The added horizontal lines are there to calm down the shape of the car which includes a lip spoiler at the back and chrome surround. The chrome part has also been added to the tip part of the dual exhaust tips

The newest 2016 Sonata is perhaps the standout vehicle in the whole current production line that comes out from Hyundai. It has a more distinctive front-end of the car that combines with the side rocker extensions and an added body chrome trim to result with a very suitable design of a family vehicle. If you decide to go with the Sport model you will see a redesigned version of the rear bumper fascia and quad exhaust tips at the back. Add to that the new 18-inch alloy wheels and you get a very nicely designed and balanced vehicle in this trim as well.

Interior

The 2016 Hyundai Sonata’s interior has been very nicely trimmed down. It includes some good grade plastic additions and some leather inserts to combine for a very nice and good looking inside of the car. There are some printed woodgrain pieces added which do not look convincing at all but in fact the textured look manages to copy a carbon fiber and an aluminum look that manages to dress up the sober den of the car. The dashboard has been designed with some horizontal lines where every control cluster has been grouped in a single area or segment. The center screen has been framed with a trapezoidal shape which exemplifies a completely German design look with a stack of knobs and buttons positioned directly underneath it. The base version has a steering wheel design which is very sport looking but the 2.0T models go even further with a flat-bottom steering wheel design which is even sportier.

Engine

As the 2016 Hyundai Sonata is one of the lighter models in their class it was also the first one which has switched to an all four-cylinder engine lineup. Thus the base engine for the 2016 model is a 185-horsepower 2.4-liter four which also has a twin-scroll turbo. The second option that you get with the Sonata is a 245-hp 2.0-liter four which is a free rewing engine that delivers the power with a fair amount of vibration and is thus very quiet. Both engine options will use the six-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual controls that enables smooth transmissions between gears. The Sport 2.0T is the one which has paddle shifters while all Sonata vehicles have a three-mode driving selector that enables you to change between Eco, Normal, and Sport modes.

2017 Honda Civic Type R Release Date, News and Rumors

The upcoming new 2017 Honda Civic Type R was caught testing around the Nurburgring race track last month. According to the several spy photos our photographers were able to snag, it is evident that the new model has plenty of changes in store for us. So to cut to the chase, the U.S-spec Type R will be offered with a characterful, high-revving all-new turbocharged engine. The juicier details have however been left to speculation for now. So after collecting some info from well-connected sources, we were able to join in the dots and prepared the following review. Note that this sneak preview however is based only on our own rendering. Pricing and release date details are also included as well.

The new Civic Type R marks a new performance era for Honda cars by delivering peak levels of performance through the brand’s racing DNA. Having been on a hiatus for two years, the Type R promises to return triumphantly with some of the best technologies, systems, and features the hot hat segment has ever seen. Indeed, credible reports say the new model will be a demonstration of just how far Honda has come from in regards to technology and performance innovation.

It is not known whether Honda will still offer the 2.0L VTEC Turbo gasoline engine the prior model was offered with. Some quarters say the new automobile will come with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine able to crank out 315 horsepower and 300 lbs. ft. of torque. With this power, it should be able to zoom from 0-60 mph in just slightly over five seconds. Its top speed, the same quarters say, should be around 167 mph limit. It is imperative to note that the 2015 Honda Civic Type R was offered with a direct-injected turbocharged 2.0L engine that was able to offer 306 hp @6,500 rpm, and 295 pounds-feet of torque @2,500 rpm.

Just like before, Honda has offered the new model with high-precision technologies meant to cap emission ratings, while improving fuel efficiency and improving the output of the engine. The previous model offered a blistering performance that was unmatched in the FWD hot hatch segment. And even despite its astonishing performance – 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds and 167 mph top speed – it achieved very low emissions of just 170g/km.

Akin to the previous model it is replacing, the new model is expected to go up in arms against its traditional rivals such as the Volkswagen Golf GTI, and the Ford Focus ST. It is almost impossible to talk of the hot hatch segment without mentioning the Golf GTI. It is essentially the segment founding father, having been there since 1983. Specs include: a top speed of 124 mph, 0-60 mph in 5.8 seconds, and an output of 210 horsepower. The Ford Focus, on the other hand, is one of the best hot hatches the US market boasts of. It is a great option fir daily and track use.

2017 Honda Civic Type R USA Release Date & Price

Pricing details are still far from being released. Those in the know however say the U.S spec version price should most likely be offered within the neighborhood of the Euro-spec Type R that goes for sale for $46,000. Its release date should be expected sometime in mid-2017.

2017 Honda Civic Type R Exterior

As is evident from the spy images we have of the vehicle, the exterior design has somehow carried over virtually unchanged from before – if you ask me. The detailing aspects have however changed. The front fascia has completely evolved into something even more impressing. The Honda badge is more upright, vertical brake ducts have been added, and the side air inlets have been redesigned. Around back, the lower fascia and the spoiler have all undergone revisions.
