Since it was introduced in Europe five years ago, the new Ford Ranger generated rapid sales. In fact, Ranger’s market share rose to just over 24% as of 2016 in Ford’s traditional European markets, placing it ahead of its traditional rivals such as the Toyota Hilux. For 2017, Ford hopes to even better its appeal through features such as upscale connectivity, infotainment and convenience technologies, fuel efficiency, and stylish designs.
Some of the available technologies include a voice-activated SYNC 3 connectivity system that features an eight-inch display. It is intuitive, crisp, and quick to respond. Driver assistance technologies include traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, trailer sway control, electronic stability control, front and rear park assist, lane-keeping alert, and lane-keeping aid. Others include emergency brake assistance, adaptive load control, hill launch assist, and hill descent control.
The exterior has been updated with a more modern look with stylish exterior cues lending the new Ranger a more powerful presence on the road regardless of whether it is stationery of at speed. It stands out thanks to the imposing projector headlights, the strong new trapezoidal grille, and the more muscular hood.

We saw an opportunity to give the design extra tension that can withstand tough working conditions. 2017 Ford Ranger Release Date & Price
The new model has changed much from the existing model, and as such, pricing isn’t expected to change much. According to Ford, pricing for the existing model is provided as follows: Ranger XLT Double Cab (manual transmission) – $54,390, Ranger XLT Double Cab (automatic transmission) – $56,590, Ranger Wildtrak Double Cab (manual transmission) – $57,890, and the Ranger Wildtrak (automatic transmission) – $60,090. It is too early to speculate about the release date, however, rumors say we should expect the new model sometime in mid-2017. And so you know, the Ranger is available in the USA as the Ford Raptor.
2017 Ford Ranger Exterior
The exterior has been mildly updated. Several stylish cues such as redesigned headlights, grille, taillights, and front bumper should be expected. The result is a contemporary-looking pickup that makes an assertive statement even while standstill. Three body-styles are offered: regular cab, super cab, and double cab. With a ground clearance of 230 mm, and 800 mm of class-leading ability to wade through water, the new Ford Ranger has been engineered and designed to handle even the most extreme terrains with relative ease.
The 2017 Ford Ranger Wildtrak is the quintessential model in terms of style, and performance. The taillights, load-bed rails, side mirrors, and side air vents feature a unique dark, liquid metallic grey finish, for a sporty, bold appearance. Unique features available include machined eighteen-inch alloy wheels, a unique sports hoop, rectangular foglights, and bold Wildtrak graphics.
2017 Ford Ranger Interior
The updated exterior combined with a new stylish interior to create an even more car-like, contemporary, and comfortable environment for both the passengers and driver. Some of the standard features available in the cabin include air-conditioning, pre-wired trailer connections, a 2.3-inch driver information screen, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, cruise control, smartphone app connectivity via SYNC3, and a four-speaker radio.
Two trims are offered for the 2017 Ford Ranger: XLT and Wildtrak.
Beneath the hood of the based model are three engine choices with four output levels, while the top-of-the-line 2017 Ford Ranger Wildtrak comes with a high-output 2.2L TDCi four-cylinder and a 3.2L TDCi five-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The 3.2L five-cylinder offers an output if 197 horsepower, while the 2.2L four-cylinder offers 158 horsepower. For fuel savings, both engines come with an Auto Start/Stop feature.
The safety systems’ list is extensive. Features include lane-keeping aid, lane-keeping alert, adaptive cruise control, driver impairment monitor, electronic stability control, and forward alert.
