2017 Hyundai Sonata Review

If plenty of passenger room, lots of standard and optional features, a solid built quality, easy-to-use controls, and a smooth and comfortable ride, the new 2017 Hyundai Sonata is certainly the way to go. Its release date, although unconfirmed as of the writing of this review, should be expected sometime in the first half of 2017.

Read plenty of reports about the industry (what, you really mean you don’t?) and you’ll realize that crossovers are steadily supplanting the midsize sedan as the preferred American family vehicle of choice. However, the Sonata, as of last year, sold greater number of units than both of Hyundai’s crossovers combined. This isn’t a surprise considering the Sonata is an “A” rated sedan that is capable of even enticing its skeptics.

Some of the changes to expect from the new sedan include a new 7” infotainment system that now replaces the outgoing 5” unit. It is now more responsive and perfectly laid out and minimizes input errors by its sheer size. The newest Hyundai’s Blue Link telematics system comes with both upgraded Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone functionality. The new system tacks on Google destination search, automatic emergency contact notification, remote ignition, and all the lengthy list of features in the previous model.

Quite frankly, the new infotainment system is just one of the many significant appealing factors in the new model. Its interior, for instance, is comfortable and cavernous. The backseat is large and comfortable enough to ferry adult friends and kids. The driving quality is smooth and you shouldn’t expect it to feel like your grandpa’s Oldsmoboat during highway cruises. The luxury features and technologies are offered in plenty even for its basic model.

But even so, there are other vehicles in the midsize sedan segment that should also be considered, as they too offer a plethora of appealing features. These competitors include the Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Mazda 6, and Ford Fusion.
