Although there are better choices out there for a large, premium-brand sedan, the 2017 Lincoln MKS offers all the luxury sedan basics and costs less than many competitors. It offers a powerful fuel-thrifty turbocharged V6 engine, and abundant standard features. Its release date should be expected sometime in May 2017, according to rumors in automobile circles.
On a long road trip, the MKS’s quiet passenger cabin is a relaxing place to roll away the miles. However, the most will find the ride quality lacking in overall refinement relative to other options in the segment. Most of its rivals are well-planted and feel more solid on a winding stretch of road.
Although Lincoln hasn’t said anything about the nameplate of its successor, an all-new replacement for the MKS is in the works and we should expect the announcement sooner or later. And in the ever-evolving and hyper-competitive world of big luxury sedans, there is need for constant changes and updates, and news to keep the model afloat in the minds of its fans.
And even with so many appealing and compelling options nipping at the heels of the MKS, that isn’t to say that this dressed-up Ford Taurus version doesn’t have its unique strong points. The electronics interface is pleasing in terms of aesthetics. The passenger and truck are voluptuous, and adding icing to the cake is the turbocharged V6 engine rated at a healthy 365 horsepower.
There is no shortage of desirable rivals in its segment as alluded earlier. Some of these include the more expensive and more refined 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the European models like the 2017 BMW 5 Series, and the 2017 Audi A6.
We also suggest you take a look at similarly priced alternatives for a more apples-to-apples comparison. They include the 2017 Lexus ES 350, the 2017 Chrysler 300, the 2017 Hyundai Genesis, the 2017 Cadillac CTS, and finally, the 2017 Acura RLX.
Each of these 2017 Lincoln MKS rivals have their own strengths, but they perhaps tend to make the MKS feel and look dated in terms of features and overall performance.
