Although its unusual shape puts the squeeze on third-row passenger space, the new 2017 Lincoln MKT is indeed a solid option for consumers shopping for a six- or seven-passenger luxury crossover or wagon. Some of its strengths include a hush and well-appointed cabin, a tight third-row head- and legroom, and abundant body roll especially for the base model. Its release date should be expected sometime in August 2017.
Families looking for a three-row luxury crossover SUV have a lot of options in the segment and it all depends on the budget and priorities of the consumer. Lincoln, for 2017, is offering the MKT model which is based on the range-topping iteration of Ford Flex. It gets plenty of standard accessories and unique bodywork than before.
Even the base model is feature-laden with plenty of desirable features such as ventilated and heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive xenon headlights, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Upscale features such as double-paned front windows, a quiet cabin, supple leather, and real wood accents are offered for the range-topping models. Throw in a comfort-oriented suspension and you’ve got yourself a true luxury vehicle capable of soaking up road irregularities.
However, there are a few areas where the MKT falls short in terms of its competition such as tight third-row seating, a less voluptuous cargo area, and a relatively stressful ingress and egress. As such, there are several players in its class that can offer an array of features depending on what you want.
The Acura MDX 2017, for instance, offers a superb all-wheel drive system, extremely comfortable seats, and ample interior storage. Another strong contender would be the 2017 Infiniti QX60. It offers maximum interior space and a similar level of features and performance as the MKT. other compelling choices include the 2017 Volvo XC90, and the 2017 Buick Enclave.
