For 2017, Nissan has tried to rejuvenate the Altima by offering some bit of additional exterior styling and a handful of new features and technologies. The SR trim also returns for this year. Up front, the Altima comes with the V-Shape which brings it to speed with the rest of Nissan vehicles. The taillights and headlights are now sharper than before.

Also, the new model comes with a slew of safety features such as automatic braking, forward collision warning, hill assist, blind-spot monitoring, and adaptive cruise control. Despite this refreshments, the cabin is somehow disappointing and seems to exist in the bygone era. The features and technologies present are old news relative to what the competition offers.

In all fairness, the Altima isn’t as competitive as it was three years ago, and will face an uphill task to keep relevant in the segment. Some of its rivals include the 2017 Mazda 6, the 2017 Hyundai Sonata, and the 2017 Honda Accord.
