New 2017 Nissan Pathfinder – Release Date and Review

2017 Nissan Pathfinder Review

With its respectable fuel economy ratings, premium interior design, user-friendly electronics interface, and easy third-row ingress and egress, the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is set to be a solid choice for a seven-passenger crossover SUV. However, you might find its competitors better overall. Its release date should be expected sometime during the second half of 2017, probably in September.

For starters, the new 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is an aging but still a competent option nevertheless. 2013 saw it part ways with its truck-based roots and that marked a more civilized beginning with the Altima-derived, family-friendly unibody underpinnings. The result of this was a well-appointed cabin that stuffed plenty of upscale tidbits and soft-touch materials. However, the Pathfinder has found itself in a very tight spot with several rivals nipping at its heels offering even better details.

The Pathfinder’s cabin comes chock full of premium materials and technologies, and the overall build quality is remarkable. A competitive suite of features has been offered as well, and extra ones can ordered via the optional packages offered. Some of the standard features include leather upholstered surfaces, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, interior wood trimmings, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

However, there are issues we think Nissan should have addressed better if it’s keen on scaring its bogeys in the segment. Some of its downsides include a modest cargo capacity, lacks advanced safety technologies, and a cramped backseat.

The truth is that there are more practical, newer, better-driving and refined alternatives in the segment today that make the once-fresh unibody ethos of the Nissan Pathfinder old news. One particular standout is the 2017 Honda Pilot. It is spacious, and well-equipped. Another top pick in the segment and which happens to be our favorite is none other than the perennial leader – Toyota Highlander. You can also give the 2017 Dodge Durango a thought as well.

2017 Nissan Pathfinder Engine Specs

Inspiration under the hood of the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder is derived from the 3.5L V6 engine, which comes paired to the Continuously Variable Transmission system. The system then forwards the power generated – 260 hp and 240 lbs. ft. of torque to either the FWD or the AWD.

According to preliminary reports, the Pathfinder is rumored to hit 60 mph from zero in 8,0 seconds, which puts it in an even ground with the 2017 Dodge Durango SUV. The Pilot, however, trails behind by a remarkable 1.6 seconds.

EPA should be expected at around 27/20/23 mpg on the highway/city/combined with the FWD, and 26/19/22 mpg with the AWD system.

2017 Nissan Pathfinder Release date

The 2017 Nissan Pathfinder release date should be expected sometime in the second half of 2017, at least according to pundits’ reports. As for its window sticker, an MSRP starting from $29,830 shouldn’t come as a surprise. And just like before, it will also be offered on lease terms as well.
