2017 Renault Alaskan was announced last September as a concept car, with slick design. Now Renault have a production version of this car.
It is practically the same looking version as the concept one, but with some slight changes in details. It is a rugged box shaped form. The boundaries between the side windows are now more noticeable, under grille is a bit different, side skirts and wheels are now less futuristic and smaller. All in all, they kept all the important details and changed some minor ones.
You can see that in these side by side comparisons.
Renault Alaskan Exterior
The Renault Alaskan is going to borrow its box frame from Nissan NP3000 Navara and it will rely heavily on the experience part from Nisan Navara, but the design is purely Renault’s. That can be seen in its front the most with swept-back hood design, unique headlamps and LED daytime running lamps. It has a slightly winged chrome grille with huge Renault Badge and chrome riser bar but it changed the LED Pure Vision taillights from the “concept car” to the regular traditional taillight design.
The Renault Alaskan is going to be offered in a number of styles and sizes like single, double and chassis cab, long and short beds and narrow and wide bodies. Wheel arches are compatible with everything from 16″ to 18″ alloy wheels.

The rumor has it that the US market is going to be left aside one more time. Pickup trucks have become a basic mean of transportation in the US so maybe the French thought that it would be a wise move, not to mess with the competition there. The first region which will get this beauty is going to be the South America, Colombia to be exact, and it will be available in the UK in the first half of 2017. The funny thing is that, the manufacturers are giving its babies names of the regions of the US, and the US will be the one country left standing by.
Renault Alaskan 2017 Release Date & Price
Renault is well known for its light cars, but with this new pickup truck they are trying to conquer the rest of the markets with really big competition which includes its sister car Nissan Navara, Mitsubishi L200 and Volkswagen Amarok. Prices will be somewhere around the Navara ones, which should be translated to somewhere around 23,000 pounds. According to some rumors, Renault Alaskan will be released in the first half of 2017.
