The new 2017 Renault Kwid aims to bring a sense of style, performance, and sophistication in its class. As an innovator since the 19th century, Renault has constantly sought to re-invent the way we use cars, question conventional thinking, and pioneer new ideas. With the new Renault-Nissan Alliance platform, Renault will continue to pursue its strategy of accessible mobility globally.” The review below provides an in-depth analysis of what to expect in terms of redesigns, specs, pricing estimates and release date rumors. For 2017, the newest Renault Kwid makes an even more compelling proposition with its modern, welcoming interior, and robust, stylish exterior cues. It is particularly versatile thanks to its compact footprint. It also combines unprecedented features for the segment with generous cabin space and a driver-centric styling.
The exterior of the latest 2017 Renault Kwid is representative of robust strength, dynamic performance, and a taste for adventure. Again, it exude an impression of reliability and strength thanks to the high ground clearance and short front and rear overhangs. When it comes to the interior, buyers should expect the Kwid to carry over the same confidence-inspiring styling as that on the outside. The technologies have been updated, the material quality enhanced, and the overall design layout face-lifted. The result of this being a modern, intuitive interior.
Competition wise, the Hyundai Eon, and the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 are perhaps the only options that give the 2017 Renault Kwid a run for its money. Both are pretty stylish, and perform well, and it’ll be interesting to see how the competition plays out.
2017 Renault Kwid Release Date & Price
While it is too early to speculate about the pricing info of the new model, rumors allege it’ll cost around INR 256,968 for the Renault Kwid Std. Buyers in India should also expect the Renault Kwid RxT (O) to be priced at around INR 353,131. Its release date is still a mystery at this point in time, but the same reports put it at around mid-2017.
2017 Renault Kwid Exterior
First things first, dimensions wise, the new model hasn’t changed a bit. Its length is still 3679 mm, its width – 1579, its height – 1478 mm, and its wheelbase 2,422 mm.
Up front, the new Kwid features contoured bumpers with integrated round fog lights, and air dams in the middle. It gets a sharp profile thanks to the single headlamp unit and the redesigned side indicator. The grille returns unchanged from the previous shackle-looking honeycomb mesh grille. The side profile also seems to return unchanged. The high ground clearance and side claddings make it to look interesting. Around back, the new 2017 Renault Kwid gets small taillights and a roof spoiler.
In overall, the KWID might lack the flashy aspect, but is surely an attractive-looking car in comparison to its rivals.
2017 Renault Kwid Interior
The interior looks simple and modern thanks to the latest technologies and the easy-to-use controls. At the middle of the dashboard is a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system – the same one found inside the Lodgy MPV and the Duster.
As can be seen from the spy pictures, the cabin is well laid out and features nice overall touches. The seats are comfortable and supportive. Both the passenger and luggage space are impressive by any conventional standards.
Four trims should be expected for the new 2017 Renault Kwid: Std, RxE, RxL, and RxT. More details on this will be updated on its release date.
Motivation for the new 2017 Kwid comes from a newly-developed BR-8, DOHC petrol engine that cranks out a stonking 54Ps @5,678 rpm and 72 Nm of torque @4,386 rpm. Although these figures might look average, they’re indeed great in its class. The FWD, and a five-speed manual transmission system are the default systems. Aside from the powerful output, the new 2017 Renault Kwid also scores better in terms of the fuel efficiency. At 25.17 kmpl, the Kwid becomes the most fuel efficient automobile in India.
While the Kwid has never been strong in terms of being offered with the latest safety technologies, rumor has it that the new model will get several latest technologies to match those of its competition. In overall, I’d bet the new model will be the next big thing after the Duster.
