With a turbocharged four-cylinder base engine beneath its hood and a new hardware under its skin, the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro reputation is poised to get even better. This iconic pony also comes with a smooth and serene ride, fuel-efficient turbo-4, sharp and nimble handling, a prodigious grip, and boffo V6 and V8 engines. Its date of release according to various sources should be expected in the 2nd Q of 2020 .
Fuel-efficient engines and muscle scars are naturally tantamount to each other as puritanical living and Keith Richards. And while the automotive landscape has evolved from the one in ’67, you would need to think long and hard before embarking on a long trip with a fuel-sapping Sherman tank-size Cadillac.
Nowadays, volatile fuel prices and high cost of living have made automakers downsizing their engine consumption, and this is what GM has done with the Chevrolet Camaro for 2020 . The base four banger, for instance, generates a whopping 275 hp and 295 lbs. ft. of torque. And its EPA ratings have never been this good.
It comes riding on a new platform – “Alpha” which comes with several additional benefits over the previous underpinning. For example, it is lightweight, narrower and slightly shorter than the outgoing model. Fuel savvy buyers will also fall in love with the cylinder deactivation system that, under light acceleration, cuts power it sends to the cylinders by 50%.
When we come to the available competition, the 2020 Ford Mustang EcoBoost edges closer in terms of power and interior appointment. Others in the segment include the 2020 Ford Shelby Mustang GT350, the 2020 Audi TT, and the eye-popping 707-hp Dodge Challenger Hellcat. But even with so many bogeys baying for its blood, the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro is nonetheless a capable coupe that offers modern refinement, movie-star styling, and tire-burning power.
