2017 Audi Q7 Release Date, Specs and Info

The new 2017 Audi Q7 despite showing some grey areas, is expected to be desirable and appealing to new and existing buyers. Some of its highlights for 2017 include a strong and fuel-efficient TDI engine, premium interior, and a sophisticated driving character. Its release date should be expected during the 4th Q of 2016.

Years have come and gone, yet the never aging Audi Q7 continues to stay put. The vehicle known for its premium cabin, upscale driving character, and a performance worth coveting hasn’t aged a day when it comes to offering comfort and convenience ever since its debuted almost nine years ago.

However, with fresh models flooding the segment every year, we find the Q7 difficult to recommend. For clarity, there are certain things we like though. The high-quality build and surfaces, serene ride even at top speeds, nimble handling, and a premium style.

As far as the engines are concerned, you can get up to 28 mpg with the optional TDI diesel-powered V6 engine. And for such a huge vehicle, the Q7 still affords to offer better steering and handling.

Having test-driven the vehicle ourselves, there are certain issues that Audi could have addressed. These include a mediocre performance with the TDI engine, a cramped third row seat, a lackluster fuel economy ratings, and a subpar cargo volume. Also, the acceleration to 60 is just average.

Some of our favorites in the segment include the 2017 Acura MDX, the 2017 Land Rover LR4, the 2017 BMW x5, and the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.

Available Trims – Audi Q7

The 2017 Q7 just as its predecessor will be offered in a whopping six trims: Premium, TDI Premium, Premium Plus, TDI Premium Plus, S Line Prestige, and TDI Prestige.

However, a quick preview of the exterior reveals that the curved lines present on the 2016 A4 have been replaced by straighter and angular ones in the new model. When it comes to the Interior, Audi’s reputation of offering an impeccable cabin quality thanks to all-new designs is maintained. The redesigned dash-top screen, updated controller, Virtual Cockpit gauges, and a revised MMI infotainment system, represent a great leap forward in terms of functionality and aesthetics.

Inasmuch as the new A4 is set for re-imagination, we’re impressed by the features it comes with even in its basic form. However, it still faces a challenging task in beating other well-rounded vehicles such as BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus IS, and the Acura TLX.

The new 2017 Audi A4 is sporty and performance oriented but still manages to focus its attention too on comfort. The steering and suspension filter out disturbances on mundane driving conditions. Driving dynamics are further improved by the available adjustable shock absorbers, electromechanical power steering, and the Audi drive select driving-dynamics system. The A4 Avant and the regular model, by and large, set the benchmark here thanks to the plenty of driver assistance systems available. Stylistically, the new A4 stands out from its peers thanks to the variety of exterior cues available. There are about fourteen hues to choose from in terms of the available colors. Dimensionally, however, in comparison to the A4 Avant, it’s slightly longer and taller. The headlights and taillights have remained unchanged from the previous form.
