With its unusually accessible performance and iconic styling, the 2017 Audi R8 maintains its position as a mid-engine exotic sports car that you can enjoy driving the whole week. Some of the defining attributes for the new model include an intoxicating soundtrack with either engine, a comfortable and well-appointed cabin, a quick-shifting and manually automated manual transmission system, and an easy-to-drive character. The enduringly and appealing R8 isn’t among the list of vehicles that appear as caricatures of themselves, pined to a bygone era. Ever since its debut a decade ago, the R8 still inspires breathless social medial posts and rubberizes necks.

It still comes with a daring character, stylish looks, and a performance that still cashes. In a nutshell, the vehicle is simply a breathtaking juggernaut. It still comes with some genuine ancestry from Italy, sharing certain mechanical and structural elements as the Gallardo from Lamborghini. The performance is well manifested once you start shifting the gears on the highway.

Just as before, the vehicle has made use of lightweight materials like aluminum during its body construction. This mind-boggling vehicle offers a telepathic steering and handling that most of us would usually expect from a smaller sporty car.

One interesting thing though that we particularly like about the R8 is its ability to drive even in humdrum situations. Despite its long stay at the segment, the vehicle still offers an exceptional outward visibility, descent ride, cozy cabin, and exceptional performance. This is a vehicle that offers a unique versatility without jeopardizing its machine-like expectations.

Other vehicles in the segment that offer a formidable rivalry include the 2017 Porsche 911, the 2017 BMW i8, the 2017 Lamborghini Huracan, and the 2017 Ferrari 458 Italia.

Available Trims – Audi R8

Just as before, we should expect the revitalized Audi R8 in two body styles, namely, Coupe and Spyder. Additionally, five trims should be expected: V8, V10, V10 Plus, V10 competition, and the V10 Carbon.

However, with fresh models flooding the segment every year, we find the Q7 difficult to recommend. For clarity, there are certain things we like though. The high-quality build and surfaces, serene ride even at top speeds, nimble handling, and a premium style.

As far as the engines are concerned, you can get up to 28 mpg with the optional TDI diesel-powered V6 engine. And for such a huge vehicle, the Q7 still affords to offer better steering and handling.

Having test-driven the vehicle ourselves, there are certain issues that Audi could have addressed. These include a mediocre performance with the TDI engine, a cramped third row seat, a lackluster fuel economy ratings, and a subpar cargo volume. Also, the acceleration to 60 is just average.

Some of our favorites in the segment include the 2017 Acura MDX, the 2017 Land Rover LR4, the 2017 BMW x5, and the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.

Available Trims – Audi Q7

The 2017 Q7 just as its predecessor will be offered in a whopping six trims: Premium, TDI Premium, Premium Plus, TDI Premium Plus, S Line Prestige, and TDI Prestige.

Although there are a myriad of unique changes, the new Audi A4 comes with an unmistakable resemblance to other Audi models. However, a quick preview of the exterior reveals that the curved lines present on the 2016 A4 have been replaced by straighter and angular ones in the new model. When it comes to the Interior, Audi’s reputation of offering an impeccable cabin quality thanks to all-new designs is maintained. The redesigned dash-top screen, updated controller, Virtual Cockpit gauges, and a revised MMI infotainment system, represent a great leap forward in terms of functionality and aesthetics.

Inasmuch as the new A4 is set for re-imagination, we’re impressed by the features it comes with even in its basic form. However, it still faces a challenging task in beating other well-rounded vehicles such as BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Lexus IS, and the Acura TLX.

Driving dynamics are further improved by the available adjustable shock absorbers, electromechanical power steering, and the Audi drive select driving-dynamics system. The A4 Avant and the regular model, by and large, set the benchmark here thanks to the plenty of driver assistance systems available. Stylistically, the new A4 stands out from its peers thanks to the variety of exterior cues available. There are about fourteen hues to choose from in terms of the available colors. Dimensionally, however, in comparison to the A4 Avant, it’s slightly longer and taller. The headlights and taillights have remained unchanged from the previous form.
