New Details about the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur Released

The 2019 Bentley Flying Spur model is getting a new generation vehicle. This model has appeared on the market for the first time back in 2005 receiving its last update in 2013, so you can see that it is becoming a bit dated. The 2019 version is supposed to bring back the Flying Spur on track and make it into a new and a contemporary looking vehicle which might fight off the competition with ease.

It might seem strikingly odd to you that the prototype in the pictures downs a Panamera body, but do not get alarmed it is not a new Porsche in the making it is indeed the new Bentley Flying Spur we are looking at. This actually comes as no surprise as Bentley has done this in the past as they used the body of the Audi Q7 for the Bentayga model before. When you know that both Audi, Bentley and Porsche are under the guise of Volkswagen Group it becomes a lot clearer why the car looks like it does.

The 2019 Bentley Flying Spur promises to bring an array of changes to the brand which will improve it. One of them is the addition of the MSB-F platform that has been used for the last Porsche Panamera model and will be used for this car for the first time. We are also expecting a new style language, a newly updated interior and more engine options as well.

This is still a prototype and a lot of the information about the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur is still speculative, but we have managed to gather enough rumors and leaked information to comprise a review. This will keep you set until the release date.

When is the Release Date of the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur Coming?

The majority of information about the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur can still be taken with a grain of salt, but there is no denying the spy photos and the very likely appearance of the car real soon. According to our sources the car will most likely appear in the start of 2019 as there are no indications that we might get to see it sooner than that.

2019 Bentley Flying Spur Price Tag

The price is still out there of the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur and it is very hard to determine it now. But the closest we can assume it to be is that it is going to be around $200,000 for starters, while the range toping W12 version will be offered at $250,000, before added options.

How will the Car Look Like?

Although the current pictures of the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur does not provide many information about how the final product might look like, there are still many information which are available to us which depict the future design of the car. The same way as the outgoing model the 2019 version is going to be a four-door vehicle of the of the Conti GT car. Also we were able to learn that a lot of elements for the styling of the car are going to be borrowed from the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept. We can discern and confirm these images from the latest concept in fact.

So generally speaking, it is expected that the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur and the Continental GT are going to share the majority of the front fascia. Some highlights are going to be the quad headlamp layout, the nose will be positioned lower, a sportier bumper with big side openings and a much wider grille. Also on option is a newly sculptured engine hood.

The side of the car will be the same as the vehicle they are basing it on but the changes will appear as we get to the rear part of the car. The Flying Spur is supposed to get another pair of doors, redesigned rear fenders and the wheelbase is going to be extended. Although it will have a muscular style at the same time it will be a very graceful depiction of the Continental GT. The rear portion of the car might add rectangular taillights but some longer and slimmer ones also.

Interior Changes and Updates

The current photos of the prototype 2019 Bentley Flying Spur have not been made. But it actually leads us to believe that if the exterior of a Porsche that this model also has some Porsche parts inside it. We are probably going to get a Continental interior which will take a lot of cues based on the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept. So we expect that the interior of the 2019 Flying Spur receives a sporty interior which is at the same time very elegant and uses a wide instrument cluster with a wrap-around design for the dash. Perhaps a bigger center console will be added in order to separate the front seats which will be mounted with a center display screen.

Some specific details added for comfort include two-toned upholstery, seats with diamond-patterned quilts and contrast stitching. Also expect this Bentley to come with a lot of optional equipment like sterling silver atomizers, a holder for your watch, a compartment within the middle seatback that acts as a refrigerator, and a set of very luxurious champagne glasses.

Drivetrain

There is a great possibility that the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur receives some modifications under its hood. Since the car uses a new platform there have been no confirmation which one could be implemented here. The most likely option is for the Flying Spur to share some engine options with the Panamera model. So the model might come with a modified version of the 4.0-liter V-8 engine and could offer an output of 550 hp and 567 lb-ft of torque.

Another possible option is a 2.9-liter displaced, V-6, which if used could be able to provide 450 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque for the base Flying Spur. There is even an option of adding a diesel variant as Bentley has already launched one in the Bentayga model. It is a 4.0-liter displaced, V-8 engine that provides 429 horsepower and 664 pound-feet for torque.

Also offered is the W12 unit which will be modified for the 2019 Flying Spur. It is most likely going to be able to churn out 600 horses and 664 pound-feet of twist, the same as in the Bentayga model. And a final option would also be a Panamera’s hybrid drivetrain. A combination of a  a twin-turbo, 2.9-liter, V-6 engine and an added electric motor, with the power provided by lithium-ion battery could make the model be more fuel efficient and also give it an output of 462 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

0-60 mph and Top Speed

The top speed of the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur car is yet to be determined but it will largely depend on the powertrain they decide to go for. For reference, the previous model was able to speed up to 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and gain a top speed of 183 mph. If they manage to improve the engines we can also hope for better acceleration.

Fuel Economy Improvements

It will net be clear if the fuel economy will improve for the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur until they determine the engines that they use. We are clearly getting some improvements with the prospect of a hybrid powertrain which might give us an improved score. The outgoing model consumes 14 mpg within the city while 24 mpg is used up on the highway.

Size and Trunk Capacity

The latest 2019 Bentley Flying Spur might change the size for the newest version. With the prototype using a different body and a new platform it is most likely that the car will also gain changes which will enable it to use different dimensions. The previous car had a length of 208.6 in and a wheelbase of 120.7 in and those might differ now for the 2019 version.

Offering More Safety

For now we are not certain which improvements they plan to make for the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur and its safety, but it is sure that they are planning on expanding it. The vehicle will offer more to protect the passengers and will be equipped with advanced safety specs. This will all be determined once the release date gets closer.

Competition Cars

The competition for the 2019 Bentley Flying Spur will include a usual slew of luxury vehicles. These are of course the Rolls Royce Ghost and the Mercedes-Maybach C-Class.

The 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible Will be Made

The 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible is back on track. The Mulsanne brand is one of the most interestingly designed versions of all the Bentley vehicles and it already has a very secure fan base. When a cabrio version of the Mulsanne was announced in 2015 and came with some follow up pictures of how it might look, all the fans were happy to see this finally come in motion. But due to the CEO changes the project was scrapped and the convertible version was not made. But now the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible is back on track and announced for a future release.

The Bentley Mulsanne was first made in 2010 and came as a replacement for the Arnage car. It was actually a revival of a nameplate which the company has used before for the period from 1980 to 1992. It was actually the largest Bentley vehicle when it came out and it even managed to surpass the Flying Spur model in its length. But what makes the Mulsanne interesting is its styling as it is the only car from the Bentley’s lineup which uses its own, unique language design instead of basing in on the Continental model. The brand was reworked in 2013 and it also spawned a number of special edition and performance orientated versions as well.

The base Mulsanne model is supposed to be sold for a period of at least three years more, so it was only obvious that the next innovation that they could bring to the fans is the cabrio version. For now it is not officially confirmed when the release date is supposed to be but there are rumors that say that the convertible will be a limited edition model which will come at a higher price than the base version.

Here are all the known details in our review.

When is the Release Date for the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible?

We do not have an exact time table on when the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible would appear, but there are a lot of statements coming out from Bentley recently. They are hoping to make this car as a limited version and will probably design it and make it available by 2019. More about the release date will be released once other details are determined.

Estimated Price of the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible

This 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible is not going to be a cheap vehicle and if it does get to be offered as a special edition model it might actually be priced beyond our initial suspicions. It was even said that only 20 units will be built which are going to be sold to a handful of people at a price of £1 million per unit, which translates to $1.4 million. This is considerably high, particularly if we take into account that the sedan version costs only $300,000.

Potential Exterior Look of the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible

The rendering that we have received of the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible makes it pretty much similar to Grand Convertible concept. This is a good starting point for Bentley as they already have a basis with which they could start their project and it will only require them to make a few modifications here and there. The front end of the car sees the standard front fascia of the Mulsanne sedan replaced with fascia with a long wheelbase seen in the 2017 Mulliner sedan. The drop-top will be made using Bentley’s bespoke arm and it will probably get the same kind of a front par and that way help it stand out among your standard Mulsanne car.

The convertible will get a stylish grille which boasts a chrome frame and the newly added vertical slats. The grill will still stretch for the whole length of the front end but this till will be split into two and will help the car look more elegant. The rear end will see the drop-top retaining the Mulsanne’s familiar look. This will include vertical taillights, some chrome additions made in the bumper and the hunched trunk lid. The side view of the car will make it a completely different model thanks to the configuration with two doors, different rear fenders and a shorter wheelbase.

Potential Interior Appearance

It is highly possible that the interior of the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible copies the majority of the one witnessed in the sedan version. We also will not be surprised to see some additions from the Grand Convertible. We are looking forward to seeing bright-blue inserts and Sequin Blue stitching, 14 versions of natural leather and layouts with diamond quilting which are now present on the seats as well as the door panels.

You will probably be allowed to select an interior color based on the array of offered ones so you customize your car based on your liking. Some other very exclusive features include a Burr walnut trim featured on the dash and the upper portion of the door panels and also on rear deck, and finally a very specific instrument cluster which adds a number of unique elements to it. Generally speaking, this 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible is bound to be in the top echelon of luxury cars.

Powertrain Options and Ability

We are fairly certain that the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible will transfer the engine and use the familiar twin-turbo, 6.75-liter V-8 engine as in the base Mulsanne. But we actually expect that the version from the Mulsanne Speed is used so the output may amount to as much as 530 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque, which is 25 horses and 59 pound-feet additionally compared to the base version of the sedan.

2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible Top Speed and 0-60 mph

Based on the specs of the engine the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible is predicated to have some pretty advanced acceleration rates. If they do incorporate the engine that they plan it will allow the car to reach 0-60 mph in exactly 4.8 seconds and allow it to reach a top speed of 190 mph. This is going to be possible due to the changed dimensions of the car.

How might the Fuel Economy Change?

For now we really do not have any information about the changes for the fuel economy of the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible. It is predicated that due to the smaller size of this car we get better numbers when it comes to the consumption of fuel for the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible. The base model has an EPA rating of 11 mpg city drive and 16 mpg highway.

Changes in the Size

As it was expected, the Bentley Mulsanne Convertible for 2019 will change its shape a bit compared to the base sedan model. The Mulsanne is the biggest and longest Bentley in the lineup but the convertible will not follow the same path. The wheelbase is going to be shorter and the overall length of the car is also going to be lesser. It will make this car more suitable for its convertible design.

Safety Specification

It is more than probable that the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible will transfer the majority of the safety characteristics from the base sedan model. The sedan is already a good and secure model so it will be great for this model to continue the same. Some added equipment will be nice so as to accommodate the high pricing of this version.

Competition Cars

Although this is a special edition model, the 2019 Bentley Mulsanne Convertible will still face some competition cars on established on the market. They include the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe which is perhaps one of the more exclusive models seen on the market now.
