2017 Buick Enclave Release Date and Info

The upcoming new Buick Enclave for 2017 promises nothing short of space, interior ambience and luxury for families in the middle-ground who don’t want to pay the exorbitantly priced luxury-brand premium vehicles. Its strong features include a smooth and quiet ride, eight-seating capacity, luxurious cabin, climate and antiquated audio controls, and a generous cargo capacity. Its release date should be expected early next year.

For 2017, the Enclave gets in-car Wi-Fi hot spot capability, newest version of OnStar connectivity, and new bronze-trimmed grille for the Tuscan Edition which is also going to be a first in the existing trim lineup. Also, the exterior will feature mild changes mostly on the color palette.

Nowadays, buyers shopping for a large crossover are looking for a SUV that combines impressive fuel economy, safety, and versatility as one package. For luxury, a smooth and serene ride can do. The new 2017 Buick Enclave offers a serene, smooth ride that competes well above most of its competitors. And to top the icing, it doesn’t come with a megabucks price tag.

It differentiates itself from Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Acadia through the mechanical tidbits, library-quiet ride, and styling. Whilst at the road, it soaks up the bumps at top speeds without jeopardizing the ambiance within.

Its third row is a well-thought after feature that provides relatively easy access unlike most three-row SUVs. And although it’s a full size seat, it would best fit teenagers and children. For luggage, there is an available 23.3 cubic feet of cargo space despite the third-row seat offering.

Still, all is not well with the new 2017 Buick Enclave. Its downsides include small climate and antiquated audio controls, can feel cumbersomely large, and an occasionally fastidious infotainment system.

During our test track, the AWD 2017 Buick Enclave was able to dash to 60 mph in a lackluster 8.6 seconds. This is slower than many SUVs in its segment, some of which even feature the more agile V8 engines.

The FWD, as per EPA stats, returns a fuel economy rating of 17/24/19 mpg in the city/highway/combined, and as you’d expect, the AWD slightly lowers them to 16/22/18 mpg.

2017 Buick Regal Release Date, News & Specs

At a relatively affordable price and tons of standard features, the new 2017 Buick Regal offers decent value for money for those shopping in the entry-level luxury sedan segment. Some of its highlights include an available AWD, reasonable pricing, and plenty of standard features. Its release date should be expected in the fall of 2017.

For 2017, the Regal parts with the eAssist mild hybrid powertrain, but gains a new Sport Touring appearance package, an Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a 2.4L base engine. The vehicle continues with its impressive value in comparison to other vehicles in the same segment. It offers plenty of standard features as well as optional ones.

However, making an unequivocal contender in the segment is its 2.4L engine offering, which makes it step back to its lethargic past. Also, it offers cramped and afflicted rear seating. Most of its bogeys beat it hard due to these downsides.

If space isn’t among your list of priorities, you could alleviate the engine problem through opting for the competitive turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine that cranks out a laudable 259 horsepower. It still lags in terms of the fuel economy ratings nonetheless.

Interior wise, every Regal comes with an impressive list of standard features including but not limited to leather seats, an 8” infotainment screen, automatic climate control, and an upgraded Apple CarPlay interface. On the official website you can find more info.

While the Regal still tries to impress with its list of features, the segment offers plenty of better alternatives which offer upscale features, impressive performance, and laudable fuel economy ratings, in the same price range. Alternatives to consider include 2017 Volvo S60, 2017 BMW 3 Series, 2016 Acura TLX, and 2017 Lexus IS.

Buick Regal – Available Trims

The midsize 2017 Buick Regal sedan is offered in 1SV, 1SL, Premium II or GS trims. The GS is also referred to as 1SX, and 1SP instead of Premium II. We also expect both the Regal GNX and Buick Regal Grand National to return in late 2016 or at the dawn of 2017.

Exterior Changes & Interior GS Review – 2017 Buick Regal

The base 1SV Regal starts with cruise control, automatic headlights, automatic climate control (dual-zone), an eight-way power driver seat, foglights, 18” alloy wheels, remote keyless entry, leather-wrapped steering wheel, tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, leather upholstery, auto-dimming rearview camera, split-folding rear seats, a power height-adjustable passenger seat, and headlight washers.

Standard technology items include a rearview camera, a seven-speaker audio system, Siri Eyes Free, Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity, IntelliLink infotainment system, smartphone connectivity through Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality.

The Premium II adds a navigation system, a heated steering wheel, rear-seat side airbags, a nine-speaker Bose audio system, remote start, keyless ignition and entry, xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, a 11-V power outlet, and an eight-way power passenger seat.

The 1SL comes with unique 18” wheels, dual-exhaust outlets, a rear spoiler, and a powerful turbocharged engine.

The 2017 Buick Regal GS boasts of adjustable drive modes that alter shift, suspension, and steering calibration; a configurable and enlarged gauge-cluster information display, Brembo front brakes, a sport-tuned suspension system, rear and front parking sensors, unique pedals, three-spoke steering wheel, sport front seats, and body-color sport rocker panels.

Optional for the Premium II package includes adaptive cruise control, driver memory settings, forward collision alert, lane-departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring. Stand-alone options include ambient interior lighting, chrome-clad wheels, and a sunroof.

Engine Specs – 2017 Buick Regal

Employing a 2.4L four-cylinder engine rated at 182 horsepower and 172 pounds of torque is the base 2017 Buick Regal 1SV trim. Both the six-speed automatic transmission and the front-wheel-drive systems are standard.

The EPA ratings for the above engine stand at 19/31/23 mpg in the city/highway/combined.

A 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated at 259 horsepower and 295 pounds of torque is available for the remaining trims. The six-speed auto transmission works by default. EPA ratings for the turbo-equipped front-wheel-drive are 19/27/22 mpg, and 20/31/24 mpg for the AWD Regal GS.

During our own test drive, an AWD Regal sprinted from 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds.

Standard safety equipment include full-length side curtain airbags, stability and traction control, antilock disc brakes, automatic crash notification, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, and on-demand roadside assistance.

Price & Release Date – 2017 Buick Regal Coupe
