2017 Cadillac Escalade – Release Date, News and Rumors

While you may find 2017 Cadillac Escalade’s alternatives to offer more refinement and versatility, it is an endearing and bold SUV that offers plenty of likable features and technologies. Highlights include a hush interior, a potent V8 power, an available seating capacity for up to eight people, and a stout towing capacity. Its release date should be expected sometime in early 2017, however, it is based on speculation as no one really knows when the Escalade will be offered for sale.

When the vehicle first debuted in the automobile scene 17 years ago, some critics were quick to add that Cadillac was trying hard to scratch an itch that wasn’t there. Well, the Escalade, despite the skepticism continued to grow both in sales and girth. Within this time, however, the number of rivals continued to grow exponentially and became even more difficult to keep up with the Joneses. Nevertheless, the Escalade, it is hoped will continue with its success streak.

Lots of premium features have been offered for its interior, and a contemporary, visible, and attractive design has also been factored in and is in line with the rest of Cadillac’s offering.  The first two rows, as is expected of SUVs of this size, offer generous passenger space, and full-size adults can comfortable ride for long distances inside it. The third row bench, on the other side, could well be reserved for small children, as even smaller adults and teenagers might find their knees pushing uncomfortable towards the roof since the bench is mounted on a low position relative to the floor.

The exterior remains virtually unchanged from the previous model but that not to say it has lost its commanding and bold stance. It still returns with its imposing and blockier styling and more conspicuous flourishes as before. Perhaps one of the conspicuous centerpiece of the Escalade is its interior appeal. It now features a more accurate voice recognition system, the CUE is now updated and offers faster response times in comparison to the previous model.

Certainly, the Escalade is a desirable choice for a three-row traditional luxury SUV. But even so, foibles do exist, though. Some of these include a jiggly ride quality, a cramped kids-only third row seat, and a high load and cargo floor height.

Thus, you may find yourself inclined to look at what the existing competition offers before deciding. Rivals include the fuel efficient, voluptuous third-row seat, and better driving 2017 Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, the 2017 Lexus LX 470, the 2017 Lincoln Navigator, and the off-road-serious 2017 Land Rover Range Rover.

Inspiration for the 2017 Cadillac Escalade is derived from a 6.2L V8 juggernaut that offers 420 hp and 460 lbs. ft. of torque. Power is delivered to either the FWD or the AWD via the standard eight-speed automatic transmission system.

Zipping from 0-60 mph with the 4WD Escalade only requires 6.1 seconds – an impressive time considering it’s a large SUV capable of towing about 8,300 lbs. when fully loaded.

A Concept which will Turn into the 2019 Cadillac CT8

The prospect of getting a 2019 Cadillac CT8 seems more and more likely. The designers from Cadillac have promised that they will bring more luxury cars from this brand and they are extensively looking to keep on the premisethat they made before. The CT8 is supposed to be the brand’s longest sedan vehicle which will bring forth the added level of luxury and at the same time present more added options form the maker.

The person to blame, or in fact thank, for the massive upheaval that Cadillac has made in recent years in the luxury market is Johan de Nysschen. Ever since he joined the company in 2014 the brand has vowed to keep producing more luxurious and premium vehicle and it started by offering a CT6 model which was the first one to rival both Mercedes and BMW in the segment. The CT6 was the most luxurious and technologically advanced vehicle that Cadillac has made and it slotted just above the XTS and becoming Cadillac’s range toping model. But since they announced that they are not stopping there, the CT8 is the next in line to make a mark in the segment.

Previewing this car is the Escala concept which was featured at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The Escala concept is actually the preview of what the 2019 Cadillac CT8 is supposed to look like. The concept actually brings a pinnacle premium look which Cadillac is striving for. The Escala concept is also debuting their new style language which will be used for the first time in production for the CT8. But the Escala concept is not going to meet the fate of Ciel and Elmiraj models that came before it as this one is confirmed as a sure thing to what the 2019 Cadillac CT8 is supposed to be.

Since the 2019 Cadillac CT8 is still not featured and the vehicle’s release date is not confirmed yet, there are some offered renderings which are based on the Escala concept. These are going to help us with our review and how the model will look like.

When is the 2019 Cadillac CT8 being Released?

We are expecting that the 2019 Cadillac CT8 gets to the market sometimes in 2019. The release date is not confirmed but luckily this is not a rumor nor a teaser as the CT8 is already confirmed for production. The vehicle is being made and the question is only when we get the first batch of spy photos of the car.

What is the Potential Price of the 2019 Cadillac CT8?

Being that the 2019 Cadillac CT8 is supposed to be the company’s range topping model and that they are making it their most advanced model, it is not going to be cheap at all. Depending on the engine variants offered, but we assume that the V-6 one may be priced around $90,000 while the V-8 version will go up to $100,000.

The Exterior Based on the Concept

The next 2019 Cadillac CT8 will draw the majority of the inspiration to build from the Escala concept. This vehicle will also be the first one which will use the newest Cadillac design language which will be used for other models to come. Cadillac actually rarely manages to turn their concepts into production models but it would be safe to say that the concept will tone down a lot of its elements in order to produce the production vehicle. The front end will replace the thinner headlights with some bigger and more effective LED lights. The grille is supposed to be carried over the same but will adapt a more of a conventional look and add a chrome strip between the headlamps.

The lower part is expected to be identical with the concept. The wide lower grille and the vertical LED lights already look production-ready and have the same defining features as the grille does. The part which could be added are small turn signals on the side and maybe a new hood. The side of the car will probably retain the pronounced beltline and the overall shape of the fenders and doors. The side mirrors are going to be made to be larger while the chrome window trim will be replaced with a lighter one. The rear end will also be a lot different mainly because of the concept’s three-winged taillights which are too extreme for a production version and which are surely to be replaced. The fastback configuration will be replaced for a more traditional body style as well.

Inside Specifications

The interior of the 2019 Cadillac CT8 should add some feature and present an appearance which is not seen in other Cadillac models. In fact, GM’s next-generation infotainment technology and safety systems are going to take up the majority of the inside and greatly update the vehicle compared to the old one. The highlight of the dashboard will be the massive touchscreen display which will be wrapped in leather and genuine wood veneer, a smaller will be in the place of the instrument cluster. The seats will add enhanced comfort and will be equipped with high adjustability, heated and cooling functions, as well as a massage feature. Of course, all seats come wrapped in Nappa leather.

Offered as standard you can expect a premium sound system and multi-zone climate control. Expect other technical parts to include updated version of the ones seen on the CT6 You even have the power to connect your streaming systems to the back seat’s entertainment and watch your favorite shows and streaming services.

Drivetrain and Ability

If the 2019 Cadillac CT8 continues to copy the majority of its design and details from the Escala concept, we might see this done for the platform and the engine options as well. The concept uses an Omega platform that debuted in the CT6 and we can say that the CT8 will probably use the same underpinnings as well. This will allow it to use the company’s new twin-turbo, 4.2-liter V-8 engine. There are no available specs offered now but since the previous version of this engine used in the CT6 cranks out an output of 400 horsepower an output of around 500 horsepower should be expected.  Both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive should be available.

2019 Cadillac CT8 0-60 mph and Top Speed

Being that there are no stats currently available for the 2019 Cadillac CT8, we can assume just how much the car will be fast. Based on the output of the CT6 model which reaches 0-60 mph in 6.1 seconds, this updated version of the same engine will probably bring the time down. A top speed of around 155 mph is also possible.

Fuel Economy Stats

The same things is certain for the fuel economy rating of the 2019 Cadillac CT8. We are not going to know this until they confirm the engine and test the stats. Currently there are no other options which could help us determine just how much will the engine consume but we are thinking that it will not improve so much compared to the CT6.

2019 Cadillac CT8 Dimensions and Size

The size of the 2019 Cadillac CT8 is still to be determined. We are also sure that the Escala concept will borrow the dimensions to the CT8, but there are still many things that could change. We shall have to wait and see how these stats change and you can find out about them here as we will report them as soon as they become available.

Newest Safety Features

The biggest change in the 2019 Cadillac CT8 compared to the previous CT6 will be the addition of semi-autonomous technology which will enhance safety. Mercedes has already started offering this type of technology in its large sedan vehicles and Cadillac has been falling behind and failed to offer a more lucrative offer when it came to safety. Expect a state-of-the-art system once the CT8 is released and expect it to be in the same league as the ones seen on the top vehicles in the segment.

The completion which the 2019 Cadillac CT8 is supposed to face is not going to be a light one. The segment of premium cars is always big and very competitive and there is no possibility of budging or being able to back down here. The models which are going to be the closest rivals include the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, BMW 7 Series and the Audi A8 models.

New 2017 Cadillac CT6 – Release Date and Info

The new 2017 Cadillac CT6 is a compelling value among leading luxury sedans with its generous passenger space, competitive price, efficient and responsive engine, and an engaging driving experience. It also has a commanding presence and a serious curbside presence. Its release date should be expected sometime in the latter half of 2017, at least according to recent pundit’s reports.

2017 Cadillac CT6 exterior, side view, alloy wheels

For starters, the Cadillac CT6 is a large luxury sedan with classic rear-wheel-drive proportions, and a has enjoyed a renaissance for over ten years or so, flaunting genuine high-performance credentials and a sharp new design language not seen before. But one thing makes the Cadillac CT6 a standout – it’s an unmistaken flagship vehicle.

Rumors have been circulating in the segment for a while now that Cadillac is building an even high-end sedan that is slated to one of the world’s best. Apparently, Cadillac hasn’t refuted or substantiated the claims yet, but as things stand – there “must” be something cooking on the other side of the veil. And as they say, “Only time will tell.”

The level of polish and interior refinement in the new CT6 are desirable, as is the ride and construction quality. Cadillac has made concerted efforts in ensuring that the CT6 is compelling and appealing through major interior redesigns and changes. Interior technologies and advanced safety features have also be roped in.

It’s practical, too. The backseat, for instance, offers plenty of space in comparison to other well dimensionally large luxury sedans in the market. Surprisingly though, the new model has added any weight, and sources say it weighs about 1,000 lbs. less than its competition thanks to the ample dose of lightweight aluminum and clever engineering during its construction.

With such a diet, the newest Cadillac CT6 is more than capable of getting the job done in terms of a better fuel economy particularly for the base model, and improved handling and steering precision.
