2017 Ford Escape  – Release Date, News and Rumors

The new 2017 Ford Escape is undoubtedly one of our favorites in the segment with its smorgasbord of new and updated features and technologies. Some of these appealing features include a comfortable seating, a high fuel economy, a high-tech cabin, a strong performance, and lots of high-tech features. Its release date should be expected either late this year or early 2017.

Its segment is known for many things, key among them includes its everyday versatility, utility, and interior practicality. Often lacking, however, is the sense of fun and engagement. But based on the features the latest Escape is offering, it promises a fun-to-drive character in addition to an improved performance thanks to the Ford Focus on which it is based.

In terms of performance, the escape gains a turbocharged 2.0L engine that offers the best in-class performance in its price range. For instance, 0-60 mph acceleration only takes about 7.0 seconds, while fuel consumption with the front-wheel drive is rated by EPA at 25 mpg combined. Other notable improvements in the escape include an available hands-free power liftgate with a super-cool foot sensor, a superb all-wheel drive, and a spacious cargo bay.

Interior wise, the technologies have been updated with new ones. The often finicky MyFord Touch infotainment system has now been replaced by the BlackBerry-powered Sync 3 system which offers an easy-to-navigate menu and faster response time. And even for those who are beleaguered by mobile apps, the new Sync 3 promises hustle-free access and a feature-rich experience.

Premium materials adorn every surface of the Escape’s interior, and we must admit this is one of the most handsome you’ll get anywhere close to this price range, that is, without any additional costs brought about by options packages. Available features in the new model include a rearview camera, Bluetooth phone and audio control, a leather-wrapped tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, a 4.2” driver information display, V-Shaped form-over-function buttons, and USB connectivity.

For past Escape models’ users, they’ll realize how refined the drive quality of the new model is once they hit the road. It is extraordinarily rewarding to drive and instills a higher level of driver confidence – a rarity in this segment. Even so, it’s not unmatched.

Big, bad, bold is what defines the new Ford F-150 for 2017 when you take it to run across the desert or climb mountains at full throttle. New add-ons for 2017 include an upgraded suspension system, a new engine, a new frame, and a comprehensive redesign of the existing model. For starters, the Ford F-150 model is undoubtedly the best-selling truck in the U.S. It has managed to outsell everything else on the road for years unending due to its versatility, off-road performance, utility, amenities, comfort, and fuel economy. That isn’t precisely news for a majority of American buyers who are the biggest fans of the truck. The F-150 is the perfect definition of what a truck ought to be.

Nowadays, buyers are looking for a truck that requires a more extreme approach, something that flatten cacti at 80 mph and can hop boulders. For buyers looking for such capabilities, the fresh 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor should be a top their list of priorities.

The Raptor, entering its second generation, will feature a twin turbocharged V6 engine, aluminum body panels, and an all-new frame. According to Ford, the new frame will be more solid than any other model’s in the F-150 lineup. Also, it will be 6” wider than the base model, and will feature a new terrain management system and more suspension travel.

However, that is not to say that the fresh 2017 Ford F-150 won’t have any downsides. Some of the faults include limited visibility, only the short bed configuration will be offered just like in the existing model, and the Raptor is a specialized instrument.

According to the latest news, Ford has only shown us the Raptor in extended cab style. However, we expect the existing lineup to continue unaltered to the 2017 model year. That said, we should expect up to five trims: base XL, mid-trimsXLT, Lariat and King Ranch, and top-rated Platinum. The 2016 Shelby Baja 700 is reviewed separately.

Ford hasn’t said much about what we should expect under the hood of the 2017 F-150, however, what we do know is the fact that for 2017 the truck will feature a base V6 engine that will replace the outgoing V8.

That said, the base engine will be a 3.5L V6 able to generate 284 horsepower and 256 pounds of torque. Also available is a 2.7L V6 rated at 325hp and 375 pounds of torque.
