2017 Jeep Compass Release Date, Info & Specs

Apart from its affordable price tag, there is little to covet from the fresh 2017 Jeep Compass given the perfection of its traditional rivals. Some of its highlights include an attractive price, optional flip-down tailgate speakers, comfortable front seats, and an above-average off-road capability. Its release date should be expected before this fall.

New add-ons for 2017 include satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, and standard automatic headlights for the Latitude trim.

2017 Jeep Compass front view and grile

To be quite frank, the Compass has nothing new to offer for the 2017 model except subtle changes that don’t count a thing in comparison with its rivals. However, it is expected to continue as a steady seller for Jeep despite the obvious shortcomings. And with its baby looks, rock-bottom starting price, and the alluring Jeep nameplate, the Compass will certainly prove to be an enduring appeal for its customers.

Opting for the available Freedom II off-road package will give you that off-road oomph you wish for. But the new-found capability doesn’t lack its downsides, as you will have to contend with the poor fuel economy ratings and a fairly cold Continuously Variable Transmission system. You could do away with the latter con if you choose either a six-speed auto or a five-speed manual.

2017 Jeep Compass rear angle and tailpipe

True, the Compass lacks many desirable features and technologies than its competitors, but it offers an affordable price tag that even some of its most formidable competitors cannot keep up with. Some of its rivals include the 2017 Ford Escape, 2016 Hyundai Tucson, the 2017 Honda CR-V, and the 2017 Mazda CX-5.

Available Trims & Jeep Compass

2017 Jeep Patriot Release Date, Review and Info

Apart from its rock-bottom price tag, there is little to covet from the 2017 Jeep Patriot especially considering the perfection of its rivals in its segment. Some of the defining features for 2017 include an affordable price, optional flip-down tailgate speakers, cozy front seats, and improved off-road capability offered by the Freedom Drive II package. Its release date should be expected during the second half of 2016.

For 2017, buyers shouldn’t expect to see the previous top-of-the-range Limited model, therefore, only two remaining trim models are available for the 2017 Patriot. Other novelties include a rearview camera, satellite radio, Bluetooth connectivity, ad a new Sport SE package.

Despite all the grey areas the Patriot has been manifesting for the last couple of years, it has continued to surprise many with its selling records. This might be partly attributed to the affordability that comes with the model or the ever endearing Jeep name. Either way, it all depends on your priorities and your ability to forgo things like air-conditioning, and power windows.

The 2017 model despite its evolutionary cycle hasn’t relinquished its defining off-roading ability particularly when equipped with the Freedom Drive II Off-Road Group. This, however, isn’t a free add-on and comes mated to a disappointing CVT. Despite the benefits that a CVT comes with in newer models, as long as it is equipped on the Patriot or its Compass sibling, poor fuel economy ratings are a guarantee. Hopefully, you can opt for the six-speed automatic but, in doing so, you’ll be jeopardizing the off-road ability that comes with the Freedom Drive II Off-Road Group.
