The new 2017 Pagani Huayra BC is a testament to Pagani’s innovation and technical solutions for future models. Every part of the vehicle is as a result of innovative changes that makes it achieve a completely different personality to that of the Huayra Coupe. According to Pagani, the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC design has been inspired by its “track focused” predecessors – the Zonda Cinque and the Pagani Zonda R, as it was initially conceived to be a daily driving car that gives maximum performance and exhilaration during special days and track days. Its release date has been set for early 2017. Read on to read what to expect.
First things first, what does “BC” actually mean? Apparently, “BC” represents the initials Benny Caiola – the first person to buy a Pagani Automobile. He was so impressed by the cars Horacio Pagani was making over the years. Pagani Automobile has grown over the years to curve its own niche by introducing a combination of electric motor and combustion engine, and introducing hybrid propulsion.
Furthermore, Pagani Automobiles takes pride in its areas of technological areas of development that involve creating the lightest, globally homologated, Hypercar; developing a completely new Automated Manual Transmission by paying attention to both comfort and performance without compromising the balance and weight of the car; and developing suspension and chassis systems derived from motorspot to deliver a secure and dynamic car while retaining the comfort of a typical Pagani car.
Motivation comes from a 6.0L V12 engine rated at 750 horsepower and 738 pounds-ft. of torque. Rumors also allege that the V12 mill can get up to 789 horsepower and 811 pounds feet of torque. While 0-60 mph figure is still a mystery, as of this writing, it is expected that it’ll achieve the speed in just 2.7 seconds given the standard Huayra can hit 60 mph in just three seconds.
The only competition that seems to raffle the feathers of the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC the bad way is the recently redesigned 2017 Bugatti Chiron. Power for the Chiron comes from a quad-turbocharged 8.0L W16 engine that makes a whopping 1,500 horsepower. With all this power generated beneath the hood, the Chiron 0-60 mph takes around 2.5 seconds, and goes on to achieve a top speed of 286 mph. And yet, the Bugatti costs far less than the 2017 Pagani Huayra BC.
2017 Pagani Huayra BC Release Date & Price
According to Pagani, the new Huayra BC will cost around $3M, given the engine and aerodynamic enhancements it gets over the stock Huayra that costs $1M less. Only 20 units of these vehicles will be built and will only be sold to existing owners. Its release date, as already mentioned, should be expected sometime in early 2017.
2017 Pagani Huayra BC Exterior Pictures
Inspired by the track-focused Zonda Cinque and the Zonda R, the new Huayra BC comes with exterior aerodynamic cues similar to those of its predecessors. It comes with a revised rear diffuser and a massive wing that stretches from one end of the bumper to the other. Up front, the fascia has been redesigned, with the diffuser being new. Further aback, Pagani was able to achieve improved down force thanks to the pair of spoilers beneath. The wheels, and side skirts, too, are new.
Aerodynamics cues have been redesigned. Up front, the air inlets are larger, and the race-spec canards and splitter assertive. There’s extensive use of carbon fiber especially on the engine lid, roof, and front hood. Racing stripes are colored blue and white, but certain reports say additional color choices will also be offered.
2017 Pagani Huayra BC Interior
According to Pagani, the new Huayra BC was built with a racing emphasis and weight savings in mind. And even so, the brand has also achieved quite some significant firsts when it comes to the exterior aesthetics. While many details are still under wraps, Pagani has confirmed several details such as – Black Anthracite cabin color, and a suede and leather steering wheel.
And just like any Huayra out there, there’re acres of aluminum, carbon fiber, and fine Alcantara inserts.
The new 2017 Pagani Huayra BC is only available in one well-equipped trim level.
As aforementioned, the new 2017 Pagani Huayra BC will come with a 750-horsepower – generating 6.0L V-12 engine. Other reports say it can crank out 39 horsepower more, thereby outing its total output to around 789 horsepower – 60 more horsepower than the standard Huayra.
With a 0-60 mph acceleration taking around 2.7 seconds, it is only natural for the automaker to offer it with a smorgasbord of safety and driver-assisting technologies. Though unconfirmed, the new Pagani Huayra BC will come with the same technologies that the standard model comes with. Government crash impact assessment results will be offered on its release date.
