2017 Porsche Cayenne Release Date, News & Specs

Rated as probably the best all-round crossover on the market today, the 2017 Porsche Cayenne, among other things, offers an indulgent and sporty character. A rarity that most vehicles in its segment fall short off. Some of its prowess can be attributed to its wide array of engines, its ability to be customized, a plug-in hybrid model, and a rewarding handling. Its release date, although speculative at the moment due to the scanty data available to us, should be expected in the Autumn of next year.

Most automakers would deem four engines to be a more-than enough diversity to offer its customers, however, Porsche seems to suggest otherwise. The Cayenne offers up to six engines that offers an output ranging from the base’s “humble” 300 horsepower to the breathtaking 520 hp.

With highlights such as a spirited performance, a highly customizable cabin, an engaging and athletic ride quality, and a hush and quiet ride, the five-passenger 2017 Porsche Macan is a great choice for a luxury crossover. The new 2017 Porsche Macan is our favorite in the segment. It is the most rewarding and fastest vehicle available. Its acceleration is breathtaking and tops its category, but matches other high-performance sport sedans. And with the Macan S and Macan Turbo generating an output of 340 and 400 horsepower respectively, you’ll definitely enjoy the enthralling ride quality.

Also winding you way along a twisted road shouldn’t be problem, as the new model possesses a nimble handling characteristic. You’ll also find it to be engaging more than most rivals including its bigger brother, the Cayenne, although it may not be as nimble as Porsche’s two-door sport’s cars.

Despite the center stack having so many buttons, it doesn’t take long to acclimate to them thanks to a logical layout. And from the Macan’s driver seat, the dashboard layout clearly mirrors many other modern Porsche designs, with triple dials for the instruments, a flat dash top and a center console that looks as if it belongs in a Learjet. The upscale look and feel is seamlessly provided by the exceptional well-crafted cabin and interior soft-touch materials.

As we have also come to expect from Porsche, even the base seats are exceptionally well contoured and reassure side-to-side support for more spirited roads, and affords long-haul comfort even when asphalt turns to dirt.

The cockpit layout provides a seating position well suited to spirited driving, and the steering wheel takes inspiration from the company’s exotic 918 Spyder sports car. The Macan also costs an arm and a leg, especially if you tick all the boxes in the aforementioned option’s list. It’s also worthwhile to note, though, that the cargo area and the rear seat are tight relative to other competitors in the market.

So at the end of the day, you’ll have to differentiate whether you are looking at a vehicle that offers luxury equipment or you’re more into performance. If you’re looking for luxury, we recommend you check out both the 2017 Audi SQ5 and the 2017 Audi Q5. With them comes an array of engines, and high-quality interior trimmings.

Porsche is planning to announce the release of the 2017 Porsche 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S models during this month’s Detroit Motor Show. As a result, the coupe is capable of effortlessly reaching a top speed of 189 mph and achieve a 0-60 mph acceleration in a neck-snapping 2.9 seconds.

The 911 Turbo S, on the other hand, gets an improved version of the Turbo’s flat six model. The result is a power grunt of 580 horsepower and 553 pounds torque. Consequently, the Turbo S achieves an impressive top speed of 205 mph and a 0-60 mph zoom in just 2.5 seconds.

Both engines, bolted to a dual-clutch transmission system, improve the throttle response by boosting the pressure even during load changes which is achieved through the race-derived dynamic boost function. This, in Layman’s language, means the driver will still be able to gain the same boost even after coming off from a corner or after briefly taking the foot off the accelerator.

Additionally, both the 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S models both feature the Sport Chrono package and the Sport Response button. The latter preconditions the transmission and engine for optimum responsiveness, while the former adds the go-fast features just like in the 918 Spyder that inspired the GT steering wheel.

The driver is also able to choose between the four available driving modes: Sport, Normal, Sport Plus, and Individual via the knob that is intricately placed on the steering wheel.

The PCM comes built on the center console and controlled via the 7” touchscreen.

This power boost over the previous model is mostly attributed to the tweaked air intakes and fuel injectors. As already mentioned, the PDK dual-clutch will be the only transmission system provided.

Unfortunately, it is still too early to speculate about the EPA ratings at this time, but we hope both models will improved on the outgoing model’s respectable 17/24 mpg combined.
