Next-Gen 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Soon to Come

We are gearing closer and closer to an actual 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet model. Since the base model has also been announced, it does not take long for a drop top version to follow suit as well. The car has been spotted doing tests a couple of times and still with all those spy photos we are not certain what will come out of the new 911 Cabriolet. We do know that the latest facelift did a lot of good for the car but the initial design is getting stale. A next-gen design is just what the car needs and we are happy to report that it is coming.

What is already known and what the makers have already reported is that this car is going to be using the new modular platform which will add a lot of flexibility for the car and its driving potential. But this new architecture is not only important for Porsche as they are planning to use it for other brands as well. Porsche will also employ it on some other future projects as well and it will define the future lineup of Porsche cars which are to come.

As far as the engine goes, we are probably not going to get big changes. The latest facelift introduced an improvement under the hood so we are probably not going to get another one this soon. What we might get is a hybrid powertrain on the other hand. Porsche is known for being a company which is slowly going towards being green and a number of cars have already made their debuts with a hybrid powertrain. These include the Panamera and Cayenne models and we might see the 911 Cabriolet do the same soon.

The information about the 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet is still fresh and there are not a whole lot of things that we can go on. So we are giving you some potential looks and designs of the car and we bring you the initial estimations which the vehicle might come with.

2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Exterior Design

The look of the 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet has not been established completely. It is still not finished and we are expecting more information soon. But as the spy photos have been coming out since 2016, more and more layers of the outside have been peeled off. Now we can finally see that they are going for an evolutionary design which will see half of the current car kept with the rest of it being new.

The key new features that we are receiving here include new LED headlamps and there is also a new trunk lid for the front end of the car. The front part of the car will also go through some design changes and some that we are able to see include a nose which is very much reminiscent of the one on the original 911 but the vents are the same as in the outgoing model. This might change for the production version as they may decide to make new and unique ones.

The rear part of the car does not seem to be changed so much. There are some modifications that are made towards the rear fenders but a lot of it remains unchanged. This will also change as the production vehicle draws closer and we can expect so body panels to be added.

The rear end will equally add new features which include slimmer taillights and the retractable spoiler is going to be larger compared to before and will extend just towards the taillights area. Other revisions are seen in the rear bumper and the hood grille. But for now there is too much camo to discern anything else but we know that we are getting a swell new car.

2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Interior

Although there is not much known for the interior of the 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet model, we feel that this part might be very much important for the next-gen 911 models. First of all, this is where they could make the car much more different compared to the outgoing model. They are sure to add changes and elements which might distinguish them apart. Secondly, this is what will draw the crowds to the brand even more as they might show how serious they are with their new designs and how well they are planning to make their new cars.

What we expect is a completely new design for the dashboard and the center console. The button layout will be ergonomic and the new instrument cluster will offer more information about the car and bring easier access to the controls. Finally the steering wheel is going to receive a sporty upgrade.

Porsche is already working on their brand new infotainment system and we can expect to see it make an appearance right here. It will offer more connectivity and overall more convenience. As for the comfort of the driver and the passengers we can expect better materials than in the current one for the seats and generally everywhere within the car.

Unfortunately, there are no confirmations about which powertrain the 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet will use. We know that both the convertible and the coupe are going to share engines, but they have not made them public still. The only confirmations for now are regarding the Carrera and the Carrera S which are using a 3.0-liter, inline-six engine. These versions might make 370 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of twist or 420 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque.

On the other hand, we still do not know which powertrain the 911 Turbo version and the Turbo S use. The current engine is the twin-turbo 3.8-liter boxer-six, but it may just as well happen that they decide to use a completely different engine. The current output comes to 580 hp for the Turbo S model.

The most interesting news is regarding a hybrid version. It would make it the first 911 model to carry an electronic motor. But they are currently not sure which engine would fit the setup as the one in the Cayenne and the Panamera model is not suitable while using a V-8 is too large for the car to pack in. Perhaps the most viable option is that they decide to create a powertrain of their own and that way make a suitable hybrid option.

We might also get to see a first-ever all-electric Porsche car, but since battery technology is still not at a favorable level this might only happen in a distant future.

2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet Price

It is safe to assume that the prices of the 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet will go up compared to the current car. But we are still not sure by how much. There is still a long time to go until the release of the car but we can base it only on the current lineup of cars. Everything starts with the Cabrio which is priced at $101,700, the Carrera 4 is offered for $108,600 while the Carrera S comes at $115,700. The Carrera 4S is being offered at $122,600, the 4 GTS is $138,200, the Turbo is $171,500 and the most expensive is still the Turbo S with a base MSRP of $200,400. We are expecting a price increase of about $4,000 to $8,000 for the 2019 version.

The newest about the 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet is still very fresh and a lot of things have to be confirmed as well. We can only hope that the released date comes sooner and that we do get to see the car by 2019. The redesign is going to remain an evolution of the current look but more changes are going to happen on the inside. Also, we expect the most excitement from the powertrain which will probably add something new for us to get excited about.

The list of rivals which we can consider coming against the future 2019 Porsche 911 Cabriolet is not as wide as it includes only cars like the Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster and the McLaren 570S Spider.

A New Body Style with the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe

An awkward looking test car has been spotted which could likely be the 2019 Porsche Panamerea Coupe model. There was a lot of rumors whether Porsche decided to add different body styles to their long sedan model. This model which many view as their flagship vehicle.

A shooting brake model has been previewed in the form of a concept. So that is already checked, but a coupe has not been mentioned since the inception of the idea. The spy photos have revealed some funky looking prototypes which can be a second-generation Panamera but they do not come with all the necessary details to be so. Thus a Panamera coupe might be testing for 2019.

The company originally released Porsche Panamera model  in 2009. At the same time it was the brand’s first four-door sedan model. In addition, it was their first non-SUV car which had an engine mounted in the front. What was interesting about the Panamera is that it borrowed the styling from the 911 model.

This model is the same as the Cayenne, and it continued the formula which Porsche was making with their recent products. Some enthusiast criticized it for not using the standard formula. However, the Panamera managed to prove everyone wrong with the idea they made and with the sales numbers it produced.

After the newest batch of spy photos, we are all but sure that the 2019 Porsche Panamera coupe is being developed. Although it does not look the part initially, this is often a way to mask what we have underneath. Luckily we have our rending which can help us determine how a Panamera coupe could look like. So let’s analyze it for the sake of our review and a potential coupe Panamera models.

Poteniatl New Look for the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe

Although the test mule does not look so much as a potential 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe now, a lot of it can change. The fact that they are developing a new platform for the Panamera sedan is also very helpful to determine how the coupe version may look.

However, this will not mean merely shortening the sedan and getting rid of the back doors. In fact, we are expecting that the coupe version borrows heavily from the Panamera sedan. Nevertheless, we are also viewing it as a much more aggressive alternative.

The front end might be different while the back could go through complete redesign. A new bumper will be added which is going to be more masculine and aggressive looking. At the same time, the roof line is going to look sportier. The sleek roof may combine with some amped up rear fenders and a new spoiler. This would give the coupe a very suitable design. Perhaps the end will also receive slimmer taillights and a quad-exhaust system.

The size of the car is also going to differ. This means that the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe is going to be wider and provide a balanced but aerodynamic look. It will also help to create more down force and stabilize the car even further. We are expecting to see a Turbo, S, a Turbo S and even a GTS configuration offered.

The interior of the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe is still the most mysterious part of the vehicles. It is very hard to determine how the car might look like. Especially when we do not know how they will design new sedan Panamera. But we can expect to see probably the most luxurious Porsche model to come.

If they base it on the next-generation sedan, then we can probably expect to see a whole lot of new additions in terms of luxury and comfort. The cabin will probably be draped with all kinds of expensive and comfortable materials like Alcantara and leather. Additionally, we can get some wood and carbon fiber accents as well.

The technical side will add the latest which Porsche can provide on the technological side. Moreover, it will certainly enhance the connectivity of the car. As far as the sportiness goes, the seats are going to be heavily bolstered. This will provide support for the back with better ones for the higher and sportier trims.

Possible Drive-train Offers and Output for the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe

There is a great probability that the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe is going to use the same engine offer which the sedan has. Since they are using the same MSB platform it will only make sense that they share the powertrains. But as the sedan model has yet to come out and there are no news about the next batch of engines they use, the same thing goes for the coupe.

If they transfer the current lineup we are also looking at a choice of V-6 and V-8 engines under the hood of the coupe. However, the company announced that the Panamera sedan is adding a twin-turbo, 4.0-liter V-8 as a new offer which will give it an output of 550 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque.

This version will most likely be used for the Turbo S model and will most certainly be transferred to the coupe version as well. The base entry would then be the twin-turbo V-6 which gives us a power of 350 horsepower. The transmission option falls to a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission and it also adds an all-wheel drive.

Top Speed and 0-60 mph

With the given specs and engine offers the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe is bound to have some great acceleration ability. We are probably looking at a time of 3.8 seconds necessary to reach 0-60 mph and a top speed which could span all the way up to 198 mph.

Potential Price

The newest 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe is still a lot of time away, and estimating the price is still not easy. We can say that we are probably looking at a price larger than the sedan version, which is currently at a base MSRP of $78,100, and the next-gen one will probably be around $83,000, which only leads us to believe that the newest coupe model might start at $90,000. The Turbo S coupe version might even retail from $200,000 even.

Rivaling Cars

It is also worth mentioning the competition that the 2019 Porsche Panamera Coupe is going to face. It includes two of the best cars in the segment, the BMW 6 Series and Bentley Continental GT, which could be really hard to outsell, even for a Porsche car. But we shall have to wait and see what comes once the car is developed and released.

The 2019 Porsche 717 Will Help the Company go Full Eclectic

With the 2019 Porsche 171, the famous automotive company is going to an all-electric route. But the car is still speculative as there are a lot of things about it which cannot be confirmed, but they are neither denied as well. The thing is that the information which has emerged so far is still left to the imagination of some. There are not a lot of confirmation and not a lot said from Porsche as well. They are keeping silent and denying any knowledge about the car, but that is something that we would expect them to say as Porsche is known for keeping things secretive to the very end.

The car has been named 717, an interesting name but one which could also go through some changes for the final product. The recent specs have not revealed any spy photos which further leads us to believe that this model is in its early stages of development. We are probably not going to get it any time soon but the rumors have confirmed that they are hard at work to brining this project to surface, they are just not letting us know much about it.

Here are some visceral information about the model which may have slip the hand of Porsche and some speculations that we can give in our review for our readers.

Exterior Design of the 2019 Porsche 717

The way that the 2019 Porsche 717 is supposed to look is still not certain. But some things are quite familiar and can be almost but confirmed. The car is probably going to be a four-door sedan model which they are probably going to base on the MSB architecture which is made by the VW group. If we add the cues from the 911 model to this architecture we are going to get a Panamera-like car.

This is not all too bad as Porsche has been looking to push through their Panamera look through many upcoming cars. This is not at all a bad idea as the look has proven to be widely successful. Generally speaking, the 2019 Porsche 717 is going to be like a shrunken Panamera. This approach has been working so far for Porsche and they have managed to incorporate it into many of their vehicles so why stop now as they can do the same and popularize their new project that way.

2019 Porsche 717 Interior Still a Mystery

Well for now not much is known about the inside of the 2019 Porsche 717. It is still not talked about so much and there are a lot of things that we are left to guess here. But what we are thinking is that they will probably borrow from the Panamera here as well. The Panamera look is great and the cabin of the car is very luxurious and looks more than great. The details of the Panamera might look good for this vehicle and you can imagine the rich interior filled with soft materials and luxurious leather inside already. And do not forget the gadgets and the technology which the car will certainly come with.

New Hybrid Powertrain

Under the hood of the 2019 Porsche 717 is what really matters. They are trying to make the new Porsche based on the Model S car from Tesla. This would require them to use a powertrain which would be both powerful and efficient, but that is easier said than done. The ways that the Model S is designed is that it uses a flat battery which at the same times acts as the floorboard of the car. But Porsche will use the battery in the manner where it will extend towards the sills and footwalls as well. So we are expecting a four-motor system for the car where each wheel will have a separate motor.

It might come in three different power rates with 400 horsepower, 500 hp and 600 hp models, potentially. If the car has a separate motor at each wheel it is obvious that it uses an all-wheel drive but additionally it is expected to come with four-wheel steering and torque vectoring. For now they are expecting a range of 300 miles, but depending on the time when the model arrives it might be too low as the competition is already expanding. The range figures might change by the time the release date arrives.

2019 Porsche 717 Price Ranges

Although this is a Porsche, the 2019 Porsche 717 needs to be priced accordingly if it is going to compete in this market. Being that the highest Model S is the 85D version which is priced $87,570, we can expect similar figures but still higher than that. The 717 might be offered a little bit below $100,000, with the strongest option coming at $130,000. Although they are offering luxury and a brand name to go with it, they still have to think about the potential of the car and the market it will need to compete in, so a very big price is not going to help them here.

Well, there is only one rival for the 2019 Porsche 717 here. That is the car that they are basing the vehicle on, the Tesla Model S car. If they want to compete against the original and want to make a suitable offer for the fans they cannot merely copy the formula from the Model S but they can bring their own take on the matter.

With the release of the 2019 Porsche 717 they will manage to fill in some gaps in their roster and present a completely new approach to what we were not used to seeing from Porsche. But they need to be careful as the Model S has been around for a long time and has an established set of follower. That said, Porsche also has the same but this is going to be the first car in this type of segment which might be tricky for starters. We shall have to see more from the 717 car in order to determine whether it is good to compete here.
