New 2017 Toyota Corolla – Release Date, Specs & Info

The new 2017 Toyota Corolla is intended to offer a thrilling experience, but its sensible blend of impressive fuel economy, a generous list of standard equipment and features, user-friendly controls, versatility and value make it a top choice for most small sedan shoppers. Its release date should be anticipated early 2017, probably in March or April, according to various sources privy of latest Corolla developments.

The new model is the freshest in a line of top-selling Toyota sedans first introduced in the United States almost seven decades ago. It’s a soulless appliance, they will tell you, and is one of the chief reasons why the Corolla has difficulty in commanding bountiful respect from most car reviewers.  Where is the flare and excitement? Where are the styling cues? Where is the spirited performance? Are some of the questions that you might encounter if you dare call yourself a Corolla fanatic.

The Corolla, now in its 12th generation, has been one of Toyota’s best-selling sedans and the trend seems to continue even in the future judging by what Toyota has done with the 2017 model. It comes with plenty of strengths inside and out. Dare we say, the overall style is new and brings a refreshing appeal to the classically staid small sedan class. The audio and climate controls are well laid out and are easy-to-use. We also like the way the cabin offers adequate head- and legroom and even 6-footers will be thrilled to drive one for a weekend getaway.

EPA fuel economy ratings are amazing and very few vehicles in its class would dare pose any competition there. Throw in a high-resale value, and you my friend, have got yourself the ingredients needed to claim a bragging right trophy.

Woo unto you if you value driver engagement, though. The Corolla might prove just the opposite depending on your prior driving experience with other cars in the segment. With all fairness, it is hardly inspiring once you get behind the wheel. Hopefully, for those who can’t live without the thrilling aspect of a car, there are various alternatives in the segment that can offer you just that. These Corolla bogeys include the frugal 2017 Ford Focus, the fuel-efficient 2017 Mazda 3, and the sporty 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Others in the segment include the 2017 Volkswagen Jetta, and the 2017 Honda Civic.
